Acupuncture is a key therapeutic approach of Chinese Medicine which relies on the use of strategic and careful stimulation of points in the human body known to have therapeutic significance. Gentle use of filament (extremely fine), sterile, single use/disposable needles to benefit patient health. Acupuncture is known to be safe and effective when treatment is conducted by a properly trained and licensed practitioner. While some discomfort is possible in any medical care, acupuncture is not meant to be painful or difficult. Patients most often report experiencing a renewed relationship with their physical and energetic landscape, a sense of peace and the feeling revitalization after their first treatment. In conjunction with acupuncture, other aspects of Chinese medicine such as moxibustion (a type of heat therapy), cupping (vacuum suction) and Tui Na (Chinese medical massage) are utilized when indicated. Acupuncture consults may be scheduled separately from or in conjunction with dietary therapy and or herb medicine consults.
